Where to have Lunch and Dinner in Kennebunkport
Boathouse Restaurant
I heard a lot of hype about the Boathouse Restaurant and honestly thought it might be overrated, but I was pleasantly surprised. Situated in the heart of town on the Kennebunk River, the atmosphere is lively and the food is fantastic. Both times I went, I had a glass of rose and shrimp tacos-and they never disappointed. Although they don’t take reservations, you can put your name in for a table and walk around Dock Square while you wait. They’ll give you a call when your table is ready.
The Lost Fire
The Lost Fire offers brings a taste of Patagonian barbecue to Kennebunkport, with smoky, wood-fired flavors and a serious focus on meat. Reservations are encouraged.
Luca at The Lost Fire
I absolutely love Luca! It’s essentially the same menu as The Lost Fire, but on a bohemian patio in the woods. The ambiance is magical, with twinkling lights strung along the trees, Adirondack chairs around a cozy fireplace, and drinks served out of a small barn. The food was excellent- I had a burger and fries and Tim had a filet. If you’re visiting Kennebunkport, this restaurant is a must-try. Just be sure to make reservations in advance!
Casa Seventy-Seven
Casa Seventy-Seven is tucked away in Cape Porpoise, a quieter side of Kennebunkport, where you can watch the fishing boats come and go. Inside, the vibe is modern and sleek, but we opted for a bistro table outside, right by the water. I went with a classic lobster roll and paired it with a limoncello spritz. If you’re looking for laid-back spot to soak in coastal scenery- this is the spot!
Chez Rosa
Chez Rosa is a charming French spot in town and definitely one of my favorites. The atmosphere is absolutely enchanting, with greenery draped across the walls and ceiling, French bistro chairs, and white marble tabletops. I started with a half-dozen oysters, but they were so fresh that I had to order six more. We also had French onion soup, steak frites, and creme brûlée. If you’re planning to go, definitely make a reservation- it’s a popular spot!
Rosella
Rosella is a stylish, sustainable sushi restaurant located inside The Grand Hotel. We popped in for a drink on their front porch and again for a sushi roll. For a more interactive experience, ask for a seat at the sushi bar to chat with the chef. Reservations are recommended.
Earth at Hidden Pond

Their menu features farm-to-table dishes made from fresh, local ingredients, making for a memorable meal. If you’re planning a date night, this is definitely the place to be! I recommend making a reservation in advance, as its a popular spot.
The Pilot House
The Pilot House is a casual local hangout with a relaxed vibe. The downstairs has a cozy, laid-back atmosphere, while the newly renovated upstairs has a stylish nautical theme. It’s a great spot to listen to live music and have good food and drinks.
The Clam Shack
The Clam Shack is a must-visit in Kennebunkport and many swear it has the best lobster roll in town. With picnic tables outside, it’s the perfect spot for a relaxed lunch. The line can get pretty long, but you can sip on a cold beer while you wait-making time fly.

Cape Pier Chowder House is exactly what I picture of when I think of a local Maine restaurant. It’s a casual spot right on the water where you order at a window and grab a picnic table. You can relax and watch the fishing boats come and go while eating some of the best seafood. The food is amazing and surprisingly affordable, considering the quality.

The Rabbit Hole
